A Honeydue alternative for couples who would rather not link their banks

Honeydue is built around linking both partners’ accounts. If you would rather keep bank logins out of your budgeting app, Fam108 gives the two of you one picture of the household’s money, built from expenses you enter yourselves.

What Honeydue does well

Honeydue is made for couples. Each partner tracks their accounts, from bank accounts and loans to investments, chooses what to share, and the two of you coordinate bills together. It supports over 20,000 financial institutions in five countries and is a free app for iPhone and Android.

Where Fam108 is different

Fam108 never connects to a bank. You add each expense by hand, about three taps, which also means cash and any bank in any country work the same way. Both phones show one budget by category, with what is left in each as you type. A trip, a renovation or a side project can get its own budget, currency and end date, so it does not eat the month, and edits from two phones merge field by field.

When Honeydue is the better choice

If you want transactions to arrive from the bank by themselves, or want to see both partners’ balances, loans and investments in one place, an app built on connected accounts such as Honeydue is the right tool. Fam108 deliberately does not do that.

Switching: what to expect

Fam108 does not import data from other apps, so you start with a fresh budget: create the family, invite your partner with a code or a link, add the accounts you pay from and the categories you care about. Two members, one space and three accounts are free, with no time limit.

Honeydue alternative: questions and answers

Is Fam108 free like Honeydue?

For two people, yes: the free plan includes sync and invites for two members, with no ads and no time limit. Plus ($3.99 a month or $29.99 a year) adds separate spaces, more members and private accounts.

Can Fam108 import my Honeydue data?

No. Fam108 has no import from other apps or from banks, so you start fresh; the history you have elsewhere stays there.

Does Fam108 work outside the US?

Yes. Since nothing is linked to a bank, it works the same in any country and with any bank, and each space can use its own currency.

Is there an iPhone app?

Not in the App Store yet. Today Fam108 runs in the browser on any phone or computer, and on Android as a beta APK; the store versions are on their way.
