A Goodbudget alternative: category budgets for two, without envelopes
Goodbudget brings the envelope method to your phone. Fam108 takes another route to the same goal: monthly budgets by category, what is left in each shown while you enter an expense, and one budget shared by two people on their own phones.

What Goodbudget does well
Goodbudget is a digital take on the envelope method: you set money aside up front in an envelope for each category and spend from the envelope, not from the account balance. The free plan, with 20 envelopes, one account and two devices, lets a couple try it; Premium adds unlimited envelopes and accounts, five devices, seven years of history and automatic bank sync for US banks. It runs on the web, Android and iPhone.
Where Fam108 is different
Fam108 uses monthly budgets per category instead of envelopes, and shows what is left in each category at the moment you enter an expense. Sharing is counted in members, not devices: two people on the free plan, each on their own phone, up to six on Plus. History is not limited on any plan. A trip or a project can have its own budget, currency and end date, so it stays apart from the month. And Fam108 never connects to a bank.
When Goodbudget is the better choice
If you think in envelopes and like to divide each paycheck between them, Goodbudget is built exactly for that, and if you are in the US and want bank sync, its Premium plan offers it. Fam108 has neither envelopes nor bank sync.
Switching: what to expect
Fam108 does not import data from other apps, so you start with a fresh budget: set up the family, invite your partner, and put budgets on the few categories you watch most. Whatever you enter in Fam108 can be exported to CSV at any time, on every plan.

All of it: history is not limited on any plan, and CSV export works on every plan.
